Through this intention, we are committed to helping you connect back to your true essence and live from an authentic center within yourself and build a life of integrity and awareness.
We Teach You to Live Authentically
Own Your Brilliance
We start with recognizing the brilliance, wholeness, and completeness in you. You are already okay. You are complete and loveable just as you are.
Drop Shame & Anxiety
We help you to drop the shame and anxiety you hold about yourself. The whole world needs to unlearn the shame that continually generates anxiety. It is our goal to change the paradigm of society from being fear and shame- based, to being aware and conscious. Fear and shame never creates the results that we desire in our lives.
We help you face your shadow, the side of you that stops you from being passionately alive. We all have a shadow, or a dark side. You are not alone. Let’s face our shadows together without judgement.
Be Deeply Connected
We want you to move away from functioning from a place of self-limiting beliefs that keep you separated and disconnected from the loved ones in your life. We teach you to become vulnerable, connected human beings who live authentic lives.

We are continuously curious and experimental ourselves, allowing us to continuously offer you the most cutting-edge methods available. We create a family who works harmoniously together to create a safe place for you to heal.
We accept and love you unconditionally. Most importantly, we are wholeheartedly passionate about what we do. We are experts in Core Belief Restructuring and Experiential Engagement Therapy: we are passionate about it, we believe in it, and we believe in you and your recovery.
Culture of Care at Avive la Vie
Being of service to others and seeing clients transform their lives is one of our most rewarding experiences. In our culture, our team aims to feel and experience this joy on a daily basis. As a team, we encourage each other to express our individual points of view and to feel free to be true to ourselves, honest and authentic in everything we do. To live authentically is one of the top values we teach you, and we try to live that in our own lives.
We believe in being empowered and in taking action with a can-do attitude. We are proactive and start looking for solutions when we identify a problem. We do not believe in passively waiting for an outside solution. Empowerment is another value that we teach you, and we model it in our way of working.
In our line of work, relationships are everything. If we don’t get along as staff it will transfer to you, the client. As staff we walk our talk. This doesn’t mean that we pretend to be happy. What it means is that we work through our issues on our own, just as you, our clients, are doing. We strongly encourage our staff to take the opportunity of using the amazing Core Belief Restructuring (CBR) methodology for transforming their own lives. We expect our entire team to work on their issues and to improve the quality of their lives, in so crafting a better work environment for everyone involved. If a therapist hasn’t done their own deep core work, we can’t expect them to know how to do it with you.
At Avive la Vie, our therapists have years of experience in resolving their issues, both small and large, and they continue to work on themselves as challenges arise. Our therapists have a fearlessness about them and a willingness to enter deep places in therapy, because they have gone there themselves and welcome the benefits of self-exploration. Thank you for sharing in our culture. We’re looking forward to including you in our culture and have you experience it firsthand when you attend our residential program.
Avive la Vie's Philosophy
At our program, we have a very specific philosophy about what addiction is and how we believe it should be approached and treated. We’ve created a culture based on our philosophy that permeates everything we do.
Many clients comment that they’ve never felt so deeply accepted, understood, and loved as while they are in our care.

Every Person Is Doing the Best They Can, According to the Beliefs They Hold
We believe all people are doing their best, according to the beliefs they are holding in that moment. Therefore, we treat each person with respect and without judgment, as we assist them to cultivate a heightened awareness of how their behaviors (and beliefs) affect themselves and others.
To us, an addicted person is an addicted person at this moment in time. You may have a pattern of drinking or a pattern of using drugs, but we don’t believe that means there is something wrong with you. We’ve all been conditioned and programmed through our life’s experiences, and what we focus on is creating awareness, acceptance and forgiveness of our own programming.
Addiction Treatment Should Be Compassionate First
We believe that compassion is the key to healing and creating lasting change. Having awareness of your patterns, conditioning and core beliefs is the beginning. You then combine that awareness with compassion for yourself and learn to feel deep self-acceptance and forgiveness.
From there you can start to naturally shift out of your old patterns of thinking and acting. Motivation to create a new and joyful life comes from building on these successes. We will help you to start believing that you can do it.
It Is Essential to Release Previous Trauma and Unresolved Pain
Complete immersion into a residential program creates a day-to-day continuance that holds unique power for recovery. We believe it is essential that clients release previous trauma and unresolved pain. When these wounds are brought to the surface, we further believe in providing an exceptional amount of therapeutic assistance in a very safe environment.
Clients can completely immerse into the experience while we, as a team, create a safe cocoon. The priority for our entire team, including our administrative team, housekeepers, and chefs, is to lovingly hold the space for our clients to heal.
Addiction Treatment Should Be Customized
An addiction treatment protocol and program should be customized for each individual. We believe in the individuality of each person and adjust our protocols to meet the individual, regardless of our stance on any particular issue. We are in collaboration with our clients. Everything we do in our program takes each unique client into consideration. It’s always a two-way street.
Labeling Yourself as an Alcoholic or Drug Addict Is Dis-empowering
Do you empower or dis-empower yourself by calling yourself an alcoholic or drug addict? We believe that labels are not helpful in recovery. Our stance is that once you’ve admitted to failures and weaknesses and move into solution-mode, it is time to drop the labels and fully embrace recovery—trading in old destructive self-criticism for clear, joyful channels of creativity and life purpose.
We believe you may struggle with alcohol or drugs today, but you can grow yourself beyond this habit and become conscious of what you believe. This is what will change your life, not shaming yourself with labels.
Feeling Uncomfortable During Recovery Is Necessary
Our program is meticulously designed as a clear road map to recovery and long-term success. Feeling a little uncomfortable during the process is necessary. This “uncomfort zone,” as we call it, is when you know that you are changing.
You’re coming to us because you can’t stand to remain trapped by your addictive behavior anymore. You make it through the discomfort, you walk through the pain, and come out the other end transformed.
Empowerment Is More Effective than Giving Advice
We believe that the answers are already within each person. We therefore seek to assist you to find your own best answers, keeping advice to a minimum. We empower you to find answers by teaching you the skill of Mindful Inquiry. We guide you to self-empowerment through assignments and the discovery of your unique core values.
Looking at All Areas of Your Life Garners Powerful Results
We believe that to conquer addiction, it is essential to treat the whole person rather than a single symptom. With our holistic, integrative approach we address mind, body, spirit (essence) and connection, as we believe health and well-being are created by giving designated attention to all four areas.
Therapists Must Practice What They Teach
We believe that therapists must be able to challenge their own beliefs and observe their own patterns of avoiding discomfort and experiencing emotions fully. The therapy methods we use with you, our therapy team practices in our own lives.
We fully live the work we teach you firsthand. We believe in a nonjudgmental approach, and we therefore approach you with full acceptance no matter what your past may be.
We Show You How to Restructure the Hidden Beliefs That Are Holding You Back
We say to people that we rarely even talk about drugs and alcohol. We don’t think of our program as treating addiction; we focus instead on healing one’s core beliefs that are fueling an addiction. We then move to clearing and restructuring these self-defeating ideas. When a person is able to make peace with their beliefs, the secondary effect is that their addictive behavior will soon fade away.
Creating Change By Using Fear & Shame As Motivation Doesn’t Work
Many addiction programs use fear and shame as an attempt to motivate changes in behavior. We do not believe in shame-based thinking. Instead, we initiate change by creating awareness and self-acceptance. The next components for change are vulnerability and connection. We work on developing a healthy sense of vulnerability; having the confidence to be vulnerable with others creates connection.
Living connected with others creates healthy attachments, which are essential for well-being. Our culture is about consciousness. And consciousness brings change. It’s not easy because you have to be willing to acknowledge all the emotional pain that you have in your being. You cannot avoid some of it and experience the rest. We believe that motivating people with shame perpetuates patterns of avoidance.
To Maintain Sobriety, It Is Essential to Become Emotionally Fluid
Emotional Fluidity teaches a person how to hold no judgment around emotions. Any emotion is not bad, or good; instead the goal is to allow emotion to run through you, instead of bottling up your feelings. This empowers you to both experience emotions and learn what is triggering to you based on what emotion shows up.
Addiction Treatment Should Combine Cognitive Learning with Experiential Learning
At the core of our addiction treatment philosophy is the incorporation of our unique, experiential therapies with traditional cognitive learning. This combination creates deep understanding for clients and provides them with life skills and proven experience to navigate emotions, triggers, and fight-or-flight responses.
The Power of Connection
We all want to be connected with one another, whether we are aware of this need or not. It is encoded in our genes. Connection is the antidote to addiction, anxiety, depression and over identification with performance for validation.
It is our goal to change the paradigm of society from being fear and shame-based, to being aware and conscious. Fear and shame never creates the results that we desire in our lives.
We want to help people move away from functioning from a place of self-limiting beliefs that keep generating the same unwanted behavior and results over and over. We want people to become open, connected human beings who live authentic lives.
